The 2024 Cheltenham Literature Festival awarded Nicola Dinan’s adult‑fiction novel ‘Disappoint Me’ the New Adult Book Prize, highlighting the genre’s growing literary recognition.
The Bookseller reports that Nicola Dinan’s novel, which blends erotic narrative with psychological depth, secured the New Adult Book Prize at the Cheltenham Literature Festival. The award, presented during the festival’s closing ceremony, acknowledges Dinan’s contribution to contemporary adult fiction and signals a broader acceptance of erotic literature within mainstream literary circles.
This accolade reflects a shift in the literary market where adult‑theme works are increasingly evaluated on narrative quality rather than content alone. The festival’s decision may encourage publishers to invest in diverse voices and support authors who explore mature themes, potentially expanding readership and fostering dialogue about sexuality in literature.
